Asian Easel Card with Pop Up Bamboo Dies

Hello!  Autumn here to share a fun little easel card idea with you today.  I am absolutely in love with our new Bamboo Screen Die.  This silhouette is so realistic and its large size makes it so versatile.  I really wanted to expose the die on my card to get the full effect.  I cut it twice from watercolor paper and twice from black cardstock.  I inked it with Distress Inks for lots of color variation.  I used the black dies to create a shadow and add stability.

This is my first easel card and let me tell you how simple these are to make!  You simply create a card and score the top half in two, folding inward.  I put adhesive on the bottom panel and raised the bamboo cuts so that they were almost to the top of the upper panel.

I have been saving (hoarding) two sheets of G45 designer paper and used the images and background patterns to complete my card.

When you close the card it lies flat and will still fit in a standard envelope.  My card measures 6x6".  I stamped an old Hero Arts sentiment and wrinkled it up to resemble a fortune cookie.  I attached it with a mini paper clip and added a seam binding bow.  I left the top half of the inside of my card simple to write a message.  The bottom half has the bird medallion raised up with mounting tape to hold the easel up when folded.

I am sure that this and other dies in the September release are now on your wish list.  Purchase the Bamboo Screen Die now by clicking HERE.  I hope you are inspired to try your own easel card today.  If you have any questions about assembly, please leave a comment and I will be glad to help.
