Handmade Christmas Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Hello Tutti Designs fans!  Autumn with you today sharing a fun Christmas gift card holder tutorial featuring our gorgeous Loaded Sleigh die.  I thought this card idea would make a fun and exciting gift for my daughter in college.  Of course, I hope she comes home for Christmas, but hope to mail this out in advance to create some excitement!

I determined the placement of my die on my designer paper, then cut to create a recess.  I mounted this onto white, uncut stock.  I cut a second sled from glitter stock.  I lined up my die cut with the recess and tucked in my gift card to mark the placement of the insertion slot.

I cut a thin strip away and tested to make sure my gift card slid smoothly into the slot.

I used the cast off to make a template and cut the top background from white and a strip at the bottom of the sled from green glitter stock.

This backing for the die cut made for a sturdier overlay to my giftcard.  I glued everything together below the giftcard and left the top free.

I flipped the panel over and made a stopper for the card with foam tape.  See how I made a solid line so it would not fall down inside.  I added more tape around the panel and flipped it back over and mounted on a plaid panel to create a nice border.

I hope you are inspired by this project!  The Loaded Sleigh die will help you create the gift that keeps on giving.  I just know you will love yours.  Thanks for visiting today!
