Kimonos and Flowers Asian Spring Garden Card

Autumn with you today to share an Asian themed card featuring several of our dies from our newest Asian collection.  I really wanted to do a soft, springy card and after much digging came across this beloved sheet of Basic Grey designer paper.  It must be ten years old, but how I love it!  I used it to develop a palette for my die cut layers.

I used Distress Inks to sponge color onto the Kimono die.  I traced the die and cut it out to make a backing so the pattern would snow and inked it up with the same colors.  I used the Therm O Web adhesive sticky dot sheets to adhere the top layer to the solid cutout.  I gave the layers a spray of Glimmer Mist for shine.

I was sure I couldn't cut out the Oriental Lantern backing as easily, so I ran a the die through a second time with the paper on the top and die beneath, then used tape to adhere the cut out elements in place before carefully removing my paper from the die.  I layered the lantern over the Cherry Blossom Branch and added a bow and purchased flower.  The shimmer from the Glimmer Mist really makes the die cut elements stand out in real life.  Thanks for visiting today!  Happy crafting and happy spring!
