Hello Dear Friends!
Darlene with you today and I've created yet another Christmas card using some old AND new dies from the Tutti Design Store.
Today I've used the new ' Winter Cardinal'
I MUST CONFESS . . .
I made the following card FIRST then as I started writing my
post I realized the name of the die was Winter CARDINAL so of course
I quickly made another card (see above) and made it look more like the name! LOL
Here is my original card and a few steps taken in its creation . . .
This looks more like a gold finch vs a cardinal! LOL
But it does go to show you could make this bird any species you wanted!
After die cutting my Winter Cardinal, I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
for my coloring.
After saving the pieces that popped out of the bird,
I colored them with yellow (or red) and laid them back in.
I placed a couple small pieces of tape over the
pieces on the back side just to hold them in place until I
was ready to adhere my entire die cut panel.
I used the largest of the Cross Stitched Nesting Dies for my bottom mat.
Then the next largest size was die cut ... and from that panel I die
cut the next smaller size. That way I could color the 'frame' (middle) panel
to add a coordinating color and position the smaller rectangle inside the colored panel
to have the same effect without the added weight.
Of course you could make the bottom two matting panels both frames (using the
first cut to create all 3 panels) and that would reduce the weight even more.
