Lotus Blossom Encouraging Words Card

Happy 2019!! Jenn here today sharing another fun way to use the amazing Tutti Designs Dies!!
As a mixed media artist, I love to use die cuts to create texture and depth on my projects and this Lotus Blossom die was the perfect one for this card.

Another good tip for creating cards like this is to use white cardstock for the die cuts. This will really make them pop and accent the color palette you are using.
To Create my card:
I started by cutting all of my parts.
Four of the Lotus Blossom Die from white cardstock
To Create the base cut a 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of white cardstock to 8 1/2 X 7, Score at 4 1/4 fold, and burnish. This will create a white card that measures 4 1/4 X 7.
For the inside of the card cut a piece of patterned paper to 4 X 6 3/4 and a piece of solid (pink) to 3 3/4 X 6 1/2. Ink the edges of these with a brown toned ink. I used Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.
For the front of the card cut a patterned piece to 4 X 6 3/4, A solid (pink) to 3 3/4 X 6 1/2, and another patterned piece to 3 1/2 X 6 1/4.
For my card I sewed the edges of the top two pieces for the front of the card on three sides leaving the back open to allow me to slip of one of my die cuts under. I then adhered them to the largest piece (patterned) and stenciled lettering using a chiffon stencil paste. Set this aside to dry or dry with a heat tool. I also stamped an encouraging sentiment in brown ink onto a white wooden piece, inked the edges, and set aside to dry.

Adhere the two inside pieces.

On to the front to assemble!!
First adhere the three pieces of paper to the card base. Slip one of the Lotus Blossom Die Cuts under the edge and add some glue sparingly to stick it down.
Continue to add die cuts in the positions you like. For mine I used some foam adhesive squares to place them at different levels.

Finally, Add other embellishments such as flag chipboards, flowers, and pearls. Place the stamped coin using hot glue or strong adhesive.
In the close up below you can see just how amazing and beautiful these dies are. So intricate!

I hope you have had a wonderful Holiday Season!!
